Inspired by a love of outdoor sports, travel and vibrant colours, the owners of London based business Kusan have developed a superb range of cosy hats and gloves
Design is completed at the London HQ but the
full range is produced lovingly and ethically in Nepal where striking knitted
clothing is a tradition. All Kusan hats and gloves are fleece lined and made
from 100% New Zealand wool so they are sure to keep you as warm as toast.
It is Kusan’s belief that they employ some of
the best hand knitters in the world, many of them having been with the company
from the start. They all work in a safe healthy environment and are paid a good
wage and work fair hours. Outside the workplace, each year, Kusan contributes
to community projects within the Kathmandu Valley.
Following the terrible earthquakes earlier this
year Kusan
have worked closely with their colleagues in
Nepal to provide support, and supplies. They have worked hard to raise money back home
too and along with fashion brand Komodo, they co founded the ‘Brand Aid for
Nepal’ initiative which aims to help the Nepalese people to rebuild their lives.
In addition, this season a contribution will be
made to the initiative direct from the sale of all Kusan products. Kusan report
that the determination of the Nepalese people to keep working and continue with
life in the worst possible circumstances is incredible.
It is vital that brands like Kusan continue to manufacture
from Nepal, as trade will help to rebuild their country.
