Having a Ball

Thank you to all the lovely Ball Gowners who came along in their finery to Two by Two on Saturday to celebrate the second annual National Wear a Ball Gown Day event. Last year saw the launch of this festival of fairy tales where for one day of the year each and every one of us can indeed wear a ball gown.....

Ball Gowners were asked to come in their finest

wear a tiara

 and generally look

In order to gain the highest possible discount on their Two by Two shopping Ball Gowners were encouraged to bring a man in an evening suit....

and everyone did their utmost to achieve this...

some more creative than others

(those were delicious by the way ... be sure to consider Dotty Bakes next time you need a ballgown biscuit or indeed any other type of confectionery)

Ball Gowners came from Near

(The Tinners Rabbit from next door)

and far

Rachel and Catherine from Pixie Creations travelled from Frizington by train in their gowns to join the celebrations

Ball Gowners were greeted with a

and were serenaded by a real life Indian Princess!

to ensure everyone had a good time

...and everyone agreed that it is a wondrous thing to spend a day like a princess....

it really does make everything better

This year NWABGD was hosted by Two by Two AND Eye Care Excellence on Market Street in Ulverston
(where ball gowns and eyewear come together)

It would be great next year if even more ball gowners joined in the fun!!
