Victorian Fashions

Delighted today, in honour of the Ulverston Dickensian Festival, to dress at the height of Victorian fashion....

Since we don't specialise in such attire at Two by Two, I go to Hilaryscostumeroom.co.uk for my outfit. Hilary's is amazing, it is situated in the most unlikely place on Cartmel Fell. Every time I've been its been dark and I can hardly remember how I got there. Once parked you have to trek through a field, past a tractor and into a barn, where you are met with floor to ceiling costumes from every era ....

Hilary's costume room is brilliant I could spend days in there. I'm sure some of these ladies must have been there too....

Only Hilary is quite strict, she would not have approved of Victorian sock action for example.....

Also loving the Victorian efforts made by customers just in their own clothes..

...Jo Cambridge looked splendid sporting the Dickensian spirit in actual in season heritage tweeds.

All in all another great Victorian day finished off with a trip to the Victorian grocers...
